Allison (Ally) Batten is the director and principal of Florrimay Retail Consulting. Starting the consulting practice in 2013 after an extensive career with Target Australia and later The Reject Shop Ltd. Florrimay consulting (named after her Nanna) was established as an outcome of a personal desire to do more to support retailers both large and small. She wanted to utilise the skills and experience she had acquired to fulfil a need for experienced support with particular focus on large and SME consumer facing companies. Allison is passionate about helping retail businesses succeed in what has become a digitally and economically challenging environment.
Allison has more than 25 years of corporate experience within the Retail Sector. Having held senior executive roles with ASX listed companies for more than 10 years in fashion, general merchandise and FMCG. She considers herself to be “customer obsessed” addressing every opportunity from the customer first. Her expertise is in strategy and business development, merchandise buying and range development, planning, international sourcing, systems,process development and e-commerce.
Throughout her corporate career, Allison has managed profit centres of up to $630 Million pa and has led large teams (over 80) across multiple continents. She has extensive knowledge of e-commerce and omni channel. Having worked in emerging markets since the late 90’s. She has travelled extensively and understands how to optimise trade relations in china and emerging markets.
With social media now playing a significant part in any consumer facing business, Allison has had extensive marketing and social media experience. Allison is passionate about improving operating efficiencies through systems and processes. This passion has seen her responsible for establishing and developing complex multi stakeholder processes as well as implementing and improving planning and ERP systems.
Allison has graduated the AICD company directors course and has had extensive experience with ASX listed boards. She has a comprehensive understanding of corporate governance requirements.
